Selling my Rabbit. I've always maintained that 140F is the bare bones minimum. I usually run ~160F. Want to be clear that oil has always been in proper operating range. I check temps at injector nozzles and is usually around 167F or some such. Some an injector will read 147 or so. Into the IP inlet banjo is at 110F. I think is a false indicator because it's a very short closed loop. I'm sure the pump is adding a lot of heat.

Heat goes: (1) 15 gal tank in foam in tool box, usually no more than 12 gal in it with tranny cooler, (2) TIH (3/8 T/3/4 H), (3) 3x8x14-plate nickel-brazed FPHEwith 3/4-inch closed-cell foam behind passenger headlight, (4) VegTherm 20A in closed loop (only in winter). Of course IP and engine add heat.
