Centrifuge Operations

Postby wrapreynolds » Sat May 03, 2008 7:37 pm

Howdy folks....

Looking for techniques on centrifuge ops.....

I let my strained veggie oil settle in a 275 gal tote for almost a week.....pump 30 or so gallons into a clean barrel....heat that to 150 or so degrees overnight....then pump that oil into the barrel that has the centrifuge on it (leaving the bottom inch or so for sediments, etc)....

I use the diesel craft OC-50.....crank it to around 80 PSI...usually run 30 gallons or so at a time for about 45 minutes. A

bout how long would you guys run the veggie oil through the system for optimum veggie oil????

Thanks...

I stop when I get a layer <1/16" in the rotor after 2 hours, yours is 2x the flow, so after 1 hour, at 160F.
