Ran 100,000 miles on 100% POL kaltegepresste ( cold pressed canola SVO ).

Does not suprise me. The heater unit does the same thing as the diesel drive tank. Assuming blend used when driving.... or its a MB 61x engine that is ok with veg. once engine is at operating temps.

Why speculating if a simple search shows a VW T 4 Caravelle TDI with a Bosch VP 37 IP ?

The original FMSO website http://rapsdb.rapsinfo.de/detail.php?id=2560

The water heater in question is not a Webasto but a Eberspaecher D5W

"The water heater in question is not a Webasto but a Eberspaecher D5W"

Thanks BMW fan. Do you know if a D5W also heats the fuel tank?
Can you provide a better translation of:
"Der zugehörige Tank ist ein Sportbootkanister im Kofferraum."

FYI, "Performance on POL" means kilometers driven on veggie oil.

1 ) I don't know, but if a circulating pump is used it should be possible.

2) The belonging tank is a tank commonly used on ( sport / race boats ) mounted in the trunk.
