Hi Fellas,

My son bought a 91 Ford van and wants to run a blend in it.

We are in Southern Florida and it stays warm.

Thanks for starting this forum.

I put it on my favorites !

Thanks, Steve

Oh yeah, He is good ! He can take that 7.3 all apart and put it back together. He is a mechanic by trade. :)

I will update this thread with our blending adventures !

Tilly is a blender ! He blends WVO with biodiesel. That is what we are going to try first.

Again thanks for starting this forum ! ! !

Does that Van have dual tanks like the trucks do? If so, a good trick is start on diesel. Then after a 3-5 miles when the engine is warmed to normal operating temp, switch over to your VO blend tank. Doing it this way is safer, and gives you better starting, and lets you run a higher %VO in your blend. I have met some who run V100 in warm places like Florida using this trick, sort of like the way I run a heated 2 tank rig but with no mods needed!

One other tip if you run that way is you need to purge the VO out of the lines and filter at shutdown, by switching back to diesel before shutdown, like a 2 tank rig. This can take a while depending on the size of your filter, so you will have to experiment. When you purge, the VO contained in the filter gets sent back through the return to your diesel tank (if it has a return), so if you do lots of short trips you increase the VO% in the diesel tank.

Thanks, the work starts tomorrow on the van. He bought a water heated filter.

Start up on the diesel tank then switch to the other tank when the motor heats up.

This is going to be an easy setup !

I have never ran straight WVO !

Thanks, Steve
