Electric ? on cf setup

Postby gary » Thu Oct 02, 2008 8:31 am

I have followed sun"s design with the two 220v water heating elements on my cf setup. I just put the black wire to one and the white to the other screw and plug them into a 110 outlet but the fuse keeps tripping on me after about 5 min. , even though I try to use seperate outlets that I think are on different breakers....What could be the problem?

They aren't on separate breakers. You can confirm this by plugging a light into 1, flip the breaker off, watch light, then plug in another, etc.

Output....controled?

Do you have the issue about heating elements on seperate breakers because of draw from those elements......should I worry then about installing a single 4500W heating element in the system for under my bus tapping into the power supplies available or even a genstet at 2000w or should I restrict flow.....not sure sorry if this is rhetorical --edit--and how--I like letting people know i remember to edit my remarks to cover my arse from people acting cold...ohh so cold---- another edit

From the dieselcraft thread:
"I use 2 extension cords going to 2 different 20 amp circuit breakers, 1 has the 10 amp heater and a 5 amp pump, the other has the other 10 amp heater. "

Restricting flow would increase the power needed. I don't understand any of stickman's post.
