Following the Sun, small details: water tight filter kit

Postby mortarsprayer » Sat Oct 04, 2008 9:28 am

Hello Everyone,
I have been looking for water tight tool boxes for a roadside filter change kit: spare filters, gloves, towels......

There are many solutions in the 100-200 dollar range but yikes!
I finally found an O-ring sealed 'dry box' in the fishing department at Wal-Mart for $11. It is perfect for the basics and can be attached to the underside of the truck out of the way until it is needed.

My kit includes:
2 Cimtek filters for the veggie side
1 diesel fuel filter
gloves
paper towels
push rod to easily reach the lift pump

A friend has suggested adding a couple of the desiccant bags in the box to keep everything super dry.

Do you carry anything else in your kit?

Regards,
Nolan

I carry the same stuff under my drivers seat. One other item I carry is a small plastic bowl that I put under the filter when I take the old one off to avoid spills on the truck.
