Polymerization with my CF?

Postby wydra » Thu Nov 06, 2008 10:39 pm

I used the brass T's and valves that came with my oc 20 and now I am wondering if I created a problem with poly by using brass? I spent a lot of time on my set up and the last thing I want to do is tear it apart.
here it is.

Yes brass will accelerate poly, so the less you use the better. Whether its enough to make a difference during the hours you run the CF depends mostly on type and age of your VO.

I have 1 brass ball valve on my CF and have had no problems in > 2 years. It will grow a nice green slimy chicken skin on the outside of it after a long time of sitting with a little VO on it, while the black iron pipes next to it stay clean.

It appears you have the CF mounted rigidly to your barrel, I found that made it much louder since the barrel acts as a resonator. I made it not mounted to the barrel and its barely audible.

Thanks for the input. For now I won't worry about it and monitor it closely. Someone on the frybrid forum had mentioned I should pull it all out.

Yes I found that out really quick. I have since added some padding to the CF mount and got rid of the Stainless hard plumbing from the CF to the pressure relief valve, and soft plumbed it. that made a very big difference.
