Parts list and Pump

Postby Think Green » Fri Oct 02, 2009 6:03 pm

Hey man, thanks a bunch for your posts. Have a few questions for ya.

I was wondering what parts are different then the parts list listed by SunWizard (besides the AUX pump and the electronic 3-way valve)???

When you run the system you designed, does all the VO run through the AUX VO Pump and never through the stock IP?

I just want to make sure that this system will be safe with my engine, I can't afford to replace the block.

What electronic 3-way valves did you use and are there toggle switches for them inside the cab?

Read this first
http://www.powerstroke.org/forum/bio-di ... nvert.html

the PSD is not like any other motor. There is no IP, no switch over valves, no return. I have 2 independent fuel systems on my truck. one fuel pump for diesel and another fuel pump for VO.

Are you looking to convert a PSD?

No prob. If you have questions or need help, feel free to ask! Ill do what I can to help out.

You should also get on powerstroke.org. There are a few of us on there in the other fuel section that will help out. Also that is a good forum for help on the truck. Good luck bud!

7.3 psd conversion

Postby baeloth » Tue Mar 09, 2010 12:57 pm

Thanks, I just registered on powerstroke. There are some great resources here in Ft. fun and I'm sure I'll be hitting you up for advice some where along the way. Now that you have worked through the bugs with your system what do you think about yours vs. the DNA VS system? I'm handy enough to do the plumbing, though I don't think I could have figured out a design on my own. I also need to fit a tank some where it won't get in the way of my truck camper that lives in the bed. I've contemplating useing a small tank underneath for diesel and using the stock tank for WVO. What do you think?

Cheers,
Tom

I like my setup more then the DFA one because its much cheaper and I got to build it. I like to tinker and building this gave me the chance to do it and learn things along the way. If you want to just open a box and install it, the DFA kit is the best out there. If you dont mind playing and spending many hours chasing around and waiting for parts, DIY is the way to go.

I have seen people put tanks under the truck, just make sure that its mounted very well. As for the stock tank and oil, check first and make sure your tank is plastic. Some powerstorkes have steel tanks. If its plastic I guess you could redo it and put VO in the stock tank.

I got my heated fuel line and a heated fuel pickup from
green-machine.yolasite.com
pretty good prices, less expensive than anything I have come across.[/url]
