I think I want to go with a benz for my next car/project. I like the early 90s body style. I drove a 95 non turbo the other day and it was not fun. that thing was a major dog. So I need a turboDiesel benz.

Most people go with the 80s models but my girl does not want one of those. We both agree on the early or late 90s models.

I saw a few threads on the late 90s conversions and they look pretty complicated. How are the early 90s models to convert?

Up until 95 they are the same ease as the old 80s models. My 87 has lots of power to spare even at 75mph on big hills. 87 is when they started what you call the 90s style, and they are much easier to find since they sold more. See mine here:

Good to hear. there are a few early 90s ones around here that I am going to go look at.

In your thread you talked about converting but did not give much info on how you did it. Is that info available somewhere? since I finished the truck, I am itching to get going on another one

I am going to look at a 82 300d with a turbo tonigh that just poped up for sale. its in good shape and priced well too. Ill get over the body style. hopefully Ill like it, its already got a WVO conversion on it. I think its a plant drive kit.
