This is not to mention the fact that scrap theft is at an all time high with people literally maiming and killing themselves trying to get at copper power cables, etc...

There has been an explosion of people doing that here in Sydney. All these people driving round in old dilapidated trucks that look like they were found on the scrap heap themselves with wire cages fitted picking up scrap. 12 months ago you never saw this. Now, you see several before you are out of your own street!

I was putting out a heap of stuff on council clean up a few months ago worrying how far over my allowance I was. before I coudl sweep up the back yard where I had removed the first lot of stuff from, it had disappeared! While putting out the 2nd lot, some people pulled up and asked what else I had and carried it out to their truck for me!

The were very keen to take the 60 empty metal oil tins I had but I couldn't help but laugh my arse off at the way they squirmed at touching the stick oil coating on the handles like it were sewerage or something. These guys looked like they had been mining coal by hand for a week but touching oily tine with their bare hands appeared to be freaking them right out!
:?

After they told me what it was worth, I have decided to keep and crush all my tins down and when I get enough, I'll take them to the scrappy and then use the money to take the family out for a nice Dinner.

Too funny. Polymerized oil isn't that easy to clean off unless you know what to use! Question is, would they come back for more, or not?

This post was on Craig's List (I am looking to buy unfiltered, non-hydrogenated used vegetable oil (WVO). I will pay up to $2/gal if this is a relatively simple transaction in which I am able to simply go to your location, and fill up my tote with 275 gallons. I am only interested if you have the total 275 gallons on hand, right now) Is San Diego the only place where people are willing to spend this much on unfiltered oil.
