Centrifuge G-force

Postby rtwelder » Sat Sep 24, 2011 6:07 am

Hi!
I am designing my own simple, continuous flow centrifuge and I am using a
1 hp, single phase motor which spins at 1750 rpm.
at this rate with the diameter of my centrifuge which is around 10 inches, the G force is around 434 Gs.

Would any of you know if this is enough G forces to filter my oil and make it clear enough?

I see that the ones available on the internet are rated at 1000 Gs or even higher.

If it's insufficient then I will have to change the design and used pulleys of different sizes to increase the RPM of the centrifuge.

Yes thats enough, it would take 2x as long as one with 1000g (run at half the flow rate).
